PC Tune-ups

It's a fact of life when using Microsoft Windows that the system becomes clogged and slow after a year or so and the computer seems like it's running in slow motion. Programs take a long time to open, and the machine may even seem like it's on its last legs. This kind of problem can usually be cured quite simply. Uninstalling unnecessary software, and disabling unnecessary processes that start when the machine boots, and perhaps installing a lighter weight virus checker with fewer demands on the system. There are other tricks and changes that can be made, and you should feel like your machine is new again afterwards.

I also give the inside of the machine a physical clean out at this time, with a hoover and a fine brush, just to make sure there are no heat build-up issues, and the fans are all working correctly, etc.

Re-installation of your operating system

Sometimes things can go too far with the clogging up for a tune-up to be feasible. In these circumstances, if you have the original restore DVDs that came with the PC, or the restore partition on the hard drive is intact, then I can re-install the operating system, install all the latest drivers and patches, and you will have a machine as good as new (at least as far as the software goes). If you don't have a restore disk or partition, then it may be possible to re-install using the license that came with your machine, please ask for more details.

In either "slow-down" situation, it's advisable to purchase and install all the RAM you can afford, which is a very effective and straightforward way of getting more power out of your machine.

Hardware Upgrades
